There were a couple decent SEC battles in Week 7, but every game in the country was overshadowed by the heavyweight shootout between #3 Alabama and #6 Tennessee. It was labeled as the potential game of the year in its buildup, and it did not disappoint. Tennessee was able to move the ball 45 yards in 13 seconds after Alabama missed a potential game winning 50-yard field goal to sneak in a field goal of their own as time expired, holding off Bama's comeback attempt to secure a 52-49 victory for the first time in 15 years over the Tide.
Despite being on different sides of the equation on several picks last week, Jacob and I ended the week in an overall tie yet again. I have gained sole possession of first place in the money line picks as well as a tie for first with Ryne on the point total, while Micah still holds the top spot against the spread.
Week 8 will feature just four games for us to pick, as a spread was not provided for the UT Martin-Tennessee game. The 3:30 CBS game featuring #7 Ole Miss at LSU is expected to be the best game to watch of the batch, while A&M at South Carolina could potentially come down to the wire as well, just with much lower stakes involved. It will be interesting to see how #6 Alabama bounces back against #24 Mississippi State at home in Tuscaloosa on Saturday evening.
#7 Ole Miss at LSU (LSU -1.5, O/U 66.0)
Vanderbilt at Missouri (MIZ -14.0, O/U 52.5)
#24 Mississippi St at #6 Alabama (ALA -21.0, O/U 61.0)
Texas A&M at South Carolina (TAMU -3.0, O/U 44.5)
