The NCAA Tournament field has been cut down to eight teams with the completion of the Sweet 16 games Friday night. And we're set for potentially the highest quality of Elite Eight teams we've ever seen.
Last night's games were very unique. (2) Michigan State rallied in the second half to take down (6) Ole Miss down the stretch, while (2) Tennessee dominated (3) Kentucky for the entirety of the second game of the first window.
It looked like both 1 seeds in action were in danger of being upset, but Auburn pulled away from (5) Michigan late in the second half to win easily after a closely contested first half, and Houston pulled off a thrilling win on a beautifully designed under-the-basket inbounds play for a wide open layup to prevent (4) Purdue's potential upset bid. With the Elite Eight set to tip off Saturday evening, our Mega March Madness Matchup Monstrosity is heating up as well. We have a lot of brackets with all four Final Four teams remaining, so it's still anyone's contest. Here's the leaderboard at the end of the Sweet 16.
Once again, here are everyone's selections as we enter the first day of the Elite Eight.
Good luck to all of our entrants the rest of the way and we'll be back with another update tomorrow.
