We're trending in the right direction after a 5-3 performance in Week 5. We split the rare Double Lock of the Week, and were just one heel away from both legs of the Lock hitting with a Patriots cover. As it stands, we get closer to the .500 mark with a 17-18 record through five weeks. The Lock of the Week is only 2-5 now but is also starting to gain some momentum. We're going to put an absolute heater of a ticket together for Week 6, which is coming up right now.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Chicago Bears Over 44.5
We're going back to London for our first pick of Week 6. I was spot on last week in this spot with the Vikings, and I'll be correct again with my money on the Over in this matchup. Both of these offenses are starting to heat up, especially Chicago's, and the defenses have not been great. The Bears are finally back to full strength on offense with Keenan Allen fully healthy, and I think he's in for a big day against a weak Jaguars secondary. It'll be points galore for our friends across the pond Sunday morning.
Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans Over 43.0 I would normally want to side with the Under in Titans games due to the ineptitude of Tennessee's offensive situation, but I actually expect them to be able to score a good amount of points against a really bad Colts defense. Anthony Richardson is going to be back in the lineup for the Colts, and he's seemingly always good for a few incredible big plays, as well as a few throws that make you wonder how he even made it to the league. Will Levis will be back under center and we can expect one or two catastrophic mistakes from him as well. This matchup has tended toward the Over in recent years, and I think it'll do the same in some quirky fashion this week. Houston Texans at New England Patriots Under 37.5 The Patriots have been absolutely awful offensively so far this season, so much so that they're throwing Drake Maye into the fire for his first career start. I expect the standard rookie QB growing pains to ensue against a tough Houston defense. And I also think the Texans will struggle without Nico Collins in the lineup. Houston was very inefficient after Collins went down last week, and I think it's clear that he plays a huge role in their passing attack. This should be a very low scoring game. Washington Commanders +7.0 at Baltimore Ravens I know the Ravens have looked really good the last few weeks, but I'd take this Commanders team if they're getting seven points against anybody. Let's remember that five-plus point underdogs are covering (and winning) at an exceptionally high rate this year, and Washington is arguably the best team yet to be in that spot. Jayden Daniels will continue his hot start and while the Commanders might not get the outright win, they'll keep it within a touchdown. Denver Broncos +3.0 vs. Los Angeles Chargers Here's a sentence I didn't think I'd type coming into the season: how about this Broncos offense? Bo Nix has been great the last few weeks and he and Denver's defense have fought their way to three straight wins. The Chargers, on the other hand, have been really bad offensively the last couple weeks. I'm actually kind of surprised that the Broncos are home underdogs against this Chargers team. So give me Denver to cover and probably win outright as well. New York Jets +2.5 at Buffalo Bills Things are not going well in New York, as evidenced by their firing of head coach Robert Saleh just five weeks into the season. But I've found that teams usually rally under an interim head coach and gather some momentum to put together a really good performance the week after a coaching change. And I think that's what's going to happen for the Jets. Plus, Josh Allen took a massive hit to the head last week and looked really bad for the remainder of that game. I'm not so sure that here isn't a discreet concussion issue that he's dealing with. So I like the Jets to go into Buffalo and steal a win from their division rivals. Lock of the Week: Pittsburgh Steelers -3.0 at Las Vegas Raiders The Steelers have been sneaky good this season, even though they're coming off back-to-back losses. But Justin Fields has played really well at quarterback, enough to where he could steal Russell Wilson's supposed job from him even when Wilson is fully healthy. The Raiders, on the other hand, are a dumpster fire right now. They've benched Gardner Minshew for Aidan O'Connell, who didn't necessarily impress in his playing time last week. And Davante Adams is still sitting out and on the verge of being traded. I love Pittsburgh as road favorites.
