I can feel the momentum starting to build after we rattled off a 4-2-1 week in Week 9. Unfortunately, the Lock of the Week was doomed to fail after Dak Prescott was knocked out of the game halfway through. But we've finally eclipsed the .500 mark to enter Week 10 with a 31-30-2 record. Let's create some more separation from .500 this time around with these seven picks.
Carolina Panthers +7.0 vs. New York Giants
Don't look now but the Panthers might have figured something out last with Bryce Young getting his first win of the season against the Saints. And this Giants offense is so bad that I can't imagine they could beat anyone by a touchdown or more. This feels like a very safe bet despite Carolina's history for most of this season.
Buffalo Bills -4.0 at Indianapolis Colts The Colts have been great coverers this season, but the Bills are playing really good football right now. And I think we saw last week when Indy's lone touchdown came from the defense that we were wrong about the decision to bench Anthony Richardson for Joe Flacco. I think Richardson sees the field this week whether the game is close or not at the time. Minnesota Vikings at Jacksonville Jaguars Under 43.0 Also as we saw last week, this Vikings team is for real against lesser offenses. And there hasn't been much lesser than Jacksonville this season. They've been scoring a fair amount of points in recent weeks but that has come against not great defenses. I think the Vikings do what they did to the Colts on Monday night and make it tough for the Jags to get anything done. New England Patriots +6.0 at Chicago Bears After a pretty good run in Chicago, the Hail Mary loss against Washington might have broken this team. They were just dominated by the Cardinals in a 20-point loss in a game where Caleb Williams and the offense couldn't get anything going. I don't have a ton of faith in the Patriots, but Chicago is missing their top three offensive tackles. I think this will make it much easier for New England to wreak havoc on Sunday. Give me the Pats in this one. Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington Commanders Over 45.0 These are two of the better defenses in the league, and a surprisingly powerhouse matchup that we wouldn't really have predicted before the season started. The Steelers offense has been humming under Russell Wilson and I still love what Jayden Daniels is doing with the Commanders. I think we see a lot of points here. Dallas Cowboys +7.0 vs. Philadelphia Eagles This number has ballooned (probably for good reason) after the news of Dak Prescott's season ending injury. But we need to keep in mind that Cooper Rush is 5-1 when thrown into the fire as a starter, and that the Eagles have lost six straight games in Dallas. Now, they should theoretically have an easier time than if Dak was playing, but I don't expect them to run away with it at all. The Cowboys will keep it close and have a chance of winning by the end. Though I'm not saying they will win. Lock of the Week: New York Jets -2.0 at Arizona Cardinals I loved what I saw in the second half of New York's Thursday night game last week. It felt like Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams finally got back in sync, and I think they keep that momentum rolling against a very hot and cold Cardinals team. New York has had 10 days to prepare after their mini bye, and the Adams/Garrett Wilson combo is one of the best receiver tandems in this league. I like the Jets to win fairly big.
