Week 10 in the SEC was, like usual, very eventful. The biggest, and perhaps most surprising result, was South Carolina's 24-0 second half performance to upset #10 Texas A&M. South Carolina has no real shot at the playoffs at this point, but they played tremendously and brought the Aggies down quickly from their perch atop the SEC.
Florida was giving #2 Georgia fits in Jacksonville until D.J. Lagway went down in the second quarter with a hamstring injury. The Gators hung in there with the third string QB and had the game tied halfway through the fourth quarter until the Bulldogs put it away with two late touchdowns.
Vanderbilt did it again with almost no offensive output whatsoever on the road against Auburn. What they're doing this season behind Diego Pavia is nothing short of phenomenal. Pavia has now beaten the Auburn Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium two seasons in a row with two different teams, both of which having entered the games as heavy underdogs. The Commodores have now defeated both Alabama and Auburn in the same season, the first time that has occurred since 1955. They can still find a way to play their way into the conference championship game, but their offensive depth is a real issue as Pavia continues to get beaten up each week. Ole Miss got a massive win over Arkansas in a game that was never really close, setting up a huge game against Georgia next week. Tennessee took down Kentucky in a game that was much closer than it should've been, as the Vols dropped three TD passes and missed three field goals en route to just a ten point victory. After the week of action, here is the updated SEC CFP Tracker:
Last week I declared Vanderbilt eliminated from the playoff due to them picking up their third loss, as no teams with three or more losses will likely receive at large bids to the CFP. But since there's still a way for Vandy to make the SEC Championship and secure an auto bid, I've added them back to the list this time around.
A&M was the only team to take a step back in Week 10, though three of our teams had byes last week. The monumental Georgia/Ole Miss and Alabama/LSU matchups coming up this week will possibly eliminate two teams from playoff consideration. Here's the updated BSSR SEC Power Rankings after Week 10:
Here's the updated Expert Leaderboard:
Micah jumped back into the first place spot with a very solid Week 10 performance. He just has a one game lead on Ryne, and only four games separate the top four contenders. It should make for a thrilling end to the 5th Annual BSSR SEC Betting Challenge.
And here's the Guest Picker Leaderboard:
We have a new overall leader in the clubhouse among the guest pickers, as Alex P. put up the best performance in the season, which included a perfect run on the money line. As a result, he takes the top spot in three of our four categories with just four guest pickers remaining. We'll see if anyone can top that in these last four weeks of the season.
This week's guest picker is Dorin Myaun. Dorin was recently named the nation of Moldova's Person of the Year in 2024 for his work in unifying citizens on both sides of the Russia/Ukraine conflict in Eastern Europe. He currently resides in the United States where he builds and sells residential homes to some of the wealthiest families in East Tennessee. His current net worth is estimated to be about $700 million. Week 11 is a huge week for both SEC Championship and College Football Playoff implications. We have massive matchups between #3 Georgia and #16 Ole Miss, and #11 Alabama and #15 LSU. We could see two teams eliminated from playoff contention in these must see matchups at 3:30 and 7:30 eastern. Another sneaky good potential matchup is South Carolina at Vanderbilt, which could be an absolute dog fight. As always, you can roll with our consensus picks below to make the slate of games on Saturday even more enjoyable for you. Florida at #5 Texas (TEX -21.5, O/U 48.0)
